About this book
Creators: Stanley G. Weinbaum (1902-1935) "A Martian Odyssey" by Stanley G. Weinbaum is a science fiction short story published in July 1934. After crash-landing on Mars, American chemist Dick Jarvis begins a perilous trek back to his ship. Along the way, he rescues an intelligent birdlike alien named Tweel, who becomes his companion. Together they encounter bizarre Martian life forms—silicon-based pyramid builders, deadly dream-beasts that project illusions, and mysterious cart creatures with inscrutable purposes. The journey tests both survival skills and the possibility of true communication across species. (This is an automatically generated summary.) Reading Level: Reading ease score: 83.0 (6th grade).
