About this book
Creators: Titus Maccius Plautus (255 BCE-185 BCE) and Paul Nixon (1882-1956) [Translator] "Amphitryo, Asinaria, Aulularia, Bacchides, Captivi" by Titus Maccius Plautus is a collection of Latin plays written circa 200 BCE. "Captivi" focuses on war captives who switch identities to deceive their captor. A Greek master and slave, imprisoned in Aetolia, attempt a daring trick: they pretend to be each other so the master can return home. But when another prisoner recognizes them, their deception unravels, leading to shocking revelations about stolen children, long-lost family members, and the price of loyalty.
