About this book
Creators: Giorgio Vasari (1511-1574) and Gaston du C. De Vere (1882?-1955) [Translator] "Lives of the Most Eminent Painters, Sculptors and Architects, Vol. 09 (of 10)" by Giorgio Vasari is a series of artist biographies written in the 16th century. This groundbreaking work established the genre of art history writing, chronicling the lives and achievements of Renaissance masters through detailed accounts interspersed with vivid gossip and memorable anecdotes. Though criticized for favoring Florentine artists, Vasari's influential text remains a foundational source for understanding Italian Renaissance art and the creative lives behind its greatest masterpieces.
