About this book
Creators: John Reed (1887-1920) "Ten Days That Shook the World" by John Reed is a book published in 1919. American journalist and socialist Reed delivers a firsthand account of the 1917 Russian October Revolution, following prominent Bolsheviks closely during this pivotal moment in history. Though claiming to report events truthfully, Reed acknowledged his sympathies lay with the Russian working class. Written under extraordinary circumstances—after government seizure of his notes and months of struggle to reclaim them—the book has sparked debate for over a century, praised for its literary power and penetration while criticized for its partisan perspective.
